Tony Devenyi – Biography

Tony Devenyi is an award winning Production Designer with a diverse and extensive resume. He has over 40 film and television Production Design credits, beginning in 1996. In 2002 he was nominated for a Genie Award for Best Achievement in Art Direction/Production Design for Bruce Sweeney’s critically acclaimed “Last Wedding”. He has also been nominated for 4 Leo Awards, winning for Vic Sarin’s epic “Partition” in 2007. Other notable feature film credits included “Saved” and “We Don’t Live Here Anymore” and the upcoming “Driftless Area”. His television credits include numerous pilots such as “Monk” for the USA Network and the MOW “Elijah” for CTV.

He studied Fine Arts at Langara Community College, film and video production at Emily Carr College and film history and theory at the University of British Columbia.

He has also become a sought after teacher, introducing hundreds of film students, to the craft of Production Design, at universities and colleges throughout North America – most recently at the Bosa Film Centre at Capilano University.
